30 GPS Staff members from around the world travelled to Valencia, Spain from March 3rd to the 7th to participate in the first GPS Technical Visit to Valencia CF.
The purpose of the trip was for the GPS Staff to get better acquainted with the club and their methodology.
Staff arrived in Valencia on Friday night or Saturday morning where they were brought to La Pextina, the home of the GPS International Academy.
The weekend was free for the staff to do with it what they wished. They were welcomed to explore the city and enjoy the weather. Both the GPS Atletico Muneros U19 and U23 teams were in action as well with all of the GPS International Academy featured.
Trips to the famed Mestalla were in order as well. The group attended the La Liga match at the Mestalla between Los Che and Real Betis, which the homeside won 2-0 thanks to goals from Rodrigo and Simone Zaza on either side of halftime. A tour of the iconic stadium was also on offer.
When the weekend came to a close, the group was put in the hands of Toni Navarro, Toni Hernandez, Luis Martinez and the Valencia CF staff at the Valencia CF Training Facility at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna where they worked hand in hand to develop strategies and exchange information.
“The Valencia trip was an excellent opportunity for the staff from GPS UK, GPS South East Europe and GPS Spain to come together and see the methodology of Valencia CF,” says GPS Director of Coaching Peter Bradley. “It was an excellent learning experience for us all and a great opportunity for us to get together in Europe.”
Opening in the Fall of 2017, the GPS International Academy in Valencia looks to provide players with an environment that would rival that of a professional sporting club. Players have access to state of the art equipment and facilities in the form of La Pextina in addition to top level coaching and exposure to the professional staff at Valencia CF.
GPS understands that players develop at different times and rates and the facilities on offer allow for the perfect amount of support, expertise and guidance required for a player to reach their top potential.
