Valencia Comes to Cyprus

GPS SEE to Begin Programs in Fall 2017

One of the leading and most historic football clubs not only of Spain but also Europe is arriving in Greece and Cyprus to develop their football academies and teach their footballing secrets to the children of the region.

Valencia CF has partnered up with Global Premier Soccer, one of the largest institutions of it’s kind globally to develop and expand the network in South East Europe.

The arrival of GPS and Valencia CF on the island was announced at a press conference which took place at the Hilton Park  Nicosia on Thursday 2oth July 2017.  


VALENCIA CF was founded in 1919 and have played their home games at the 55,000 -seater Mestalla since 1923 which is renowned for being one of the most intimidating atmospheres in all of Europe to play. Over the years the club has achieved global recognition for producing world class talents from the state of the art facilities which are among the best in Europe.They are one of the most successful and biggest clubs in Spanish and European football.


GPS is one of the largest and most successful soccer organizations in the USA.  GPS is currently active in 22 US States and territories plus Canada. The GPS model has each location produce players using the same development model. The success GPS has had is based on the ability to improve all its players technically, tactically, physically and psychologically.  GPS’ commitment to its players is to provide them with the best coaching available in a professional and elite environment. GPS also specializes on helping elite players obtain scholarships to universities of the US through their vast network and partnerships.

Present at the press conference were high ranking officials  from Valencia CF and GPS. The spanish team was represented by Luis Martinez Sanz the International Sport Development Manager and Antonio Hernandez Garcia the Director of Academy Methodology.  

From Global Premier Soccer present was Phillip Mitchel: GPS Director of Recruitment and International Projects, George Tolias the GPS SEE Technical Director/Head of Recruiting and Antonis Vlachos the GPS SEE Director Business Development. Ambi Spyrou from GPS – Valencia CF – Cyprus welcomedthe guests and spoke about the new chapter of the academy. Starting immediately we begin a long term partnership with our first academy being based in Nicosia at our fields at Keravnos Sporting complex. We’re also very excited to announce  the acquisitions of both Marinos Satsias and Stelios Okkarides who will head our Technical team. As an academy we keep the same values and traditions that have made us successful over the years.
